OUR TEAM
About the Founder
Aurelle Dominic E. Narag has worked on data privacy and corporate governance from inside government and from inside a business that has to comply.
At the National Privacy Commission, he led the Training the Trainers Program, which accredited the institutions and practitioners who train the country's data protection officers. He also worked on the Commission's PhilDPO program and its Data Breach Response Team.
He later served in the Office of the General Counsel of the Governance Commission for GOCCs, which oversees how government-owned corporations are governed. There he advised on corporate standards, board composition, and organizational structure, including for the proposed Bangsamoro Development Corporation. He also served as the Commission's Assistant Data Protection Officer, putting privacy into practice inside a governance regulator.
That combination shapes how PrivaLex works: privacy is treated as a governance matter for boards and management, not a paperwork exercise.
He founded PrivaLex on a view he set out while at the Privacy Commission: that strong data protection makes Philippine companies competitive with their peers abroad. He was among the speakers at the Commission's Privacy Awareness Week conference in 2023.
He is also Chairman and CEO of Ardent Paralegal and Business Solutions, which supports law firms in the United States. This serves as a basis of PrivaLex's global practice.
